What are Moving Heads?
Moving heads are lighting fixtures that can move and change direction. They are popular among DJs and stage designers because they can create dynamic and immersive lighting effects that add to the overall ambiance of the event. Moving heads can be controlled by a DMX controller or by pre-programmed sequences.
There are two main types of moving heads: spot moving heads and wash moving heads. Spot moving heads produce a focused beam of light that can be used to highlight specific objects on stage. Wash moving heads produce a wider beam of light that can be used to create a wall of color or to wash the entire stage in a single color.
Moving heads come in a variety of sizes and configurations. Some can be mounted on a truss or stand, while others are designed to sit on the floor. They can also be classified based on their light source, which can be an LED, halogen, or discharge lamp.
